Irish Fiction Fridays: Newry Bridge or Ireland in 1887: Anonymous

Welcome to another edition of Irish Fiction Friday! Today we feature an anonymous work from 1886. According to the UCD Digital Library, Newry Bridge or Ireland in 1887 is a “pamphlet containing a narrative piece on Ireland and Home Rule,… which first appeared in the St. James’s Gazette. The author predicts in his story that Ireland will be thrown into the grip of civil war in 1887 if the Home Rule Bill of 1886 is passed.”

If you want more context on the work, Jack Fennell offers some insights in Irish Science Fiction here.
