Irish Fiction Friday: Ruth Long: A Crack in Everything / A Hollow in the Hills

It’s Friday again, and once more the Dublin 2019 Worldcon bid bring you a free extract of Irish Fiction from one of our wonderful authors. It must be the season for it, because over the next few weeks we have a series of book launches, new courses and other exciting writerly things to bring you. How wonderful!

We start off today with the sequel to Ruth Long’s A Crack in Everything; A Hollow in the Hills. It’s YA fiction with an fantasy theme, and Ruth has won several awards for her work in this area. Her books feature demons, the sidhe, romance and adventure; and they’re exactly what you need on a Friday evening. You can also read more about Ruth and her work here, and she’s always out and about on Twitter at @rflong

As usual, we’re giving you the opportunity to start the series from the beginning, with an extract from A Crack in Everything. This is hosted on the O’Brien Press site; an Irish publisher who also helped us out hugely during our Outreach event recently. Click on the ‘book’ template at the bottom of the page, and the extract will enlarge so that it can be read.

A Hollow in the Hills is released on 7th September, and there is a launch event on the 9th September at the Gutter Bookshop, Dublin 2, between 6.30-8.00pm. Good luck, Ruth! We hope it goes really well.
