Displays

Displays about our Guests of Honour, the Hugo Awards, and fannish things and fandom across the world

The Displays areas at Dublin 2019 will include displays and exhibits celebrating the work of our Guests of Honour, about the Hugo Awards that are awarded each year at Worldcon, and about fannish things and fandom across the world. In addition, there will be distinctively Irish elements, drawn from the rich background of Irish myth, literature and art, with science and science fiction from, in and about Ireland past and present. We hope to inform and entertain you, show you things you’ve never seen, and, just occasionally, make you go “Wow!”.

The main Displays area will be in the CCD Exhibits Hall, but we will feature displays and exhibits throughout the CCD, and in the Warehouse at the Creative Hub, too.

If you have an idea for a display at Dublin 2019, or if you would like to propose displaying something yourself, please email us at displays@dublin2019.com.

Academic posters

We will also feature displays and presentations of academic posters from across the full range of academic disciplines. A formal call for proposals has been issued jointly with the Academic Programme track. Proposals are welcome from presenters at any point in their career, but students and post-doctoral researchers will be eligible to enter their submissions into a competition. The competition will have two tracks, one for STEM subjects, and one for Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities (you are invited to select the track that best fits your work). Both tracks will have a €100 prize for the poster that best communicates its subject to the general public. You can submit proposals via the call for proposals form, or, if you have any questions, you can contact us at academic-posters@dublin2019.com.
