Irish Fiction Friday: Women Aloud NI

The Dublin 2019 Worldcon Bid team love getting out and about, so this week on Irish Fiction Friday we’re pleased to bring you an upcoming event that takes place across Northern Ireland next week. Women Aloud 2016 is a project which aims to raise the profile of the women’s writing scene in Northern Ireland. So far, more than 100 women have signed up to take part in readings and events on Tuesday 8th March, and the group recently announced that they have reached their target of at least one event per county! There are plenty of SFF gems hidden in the plethora of authors taking part, including Jo Zebedee, an enthusiastic supporter of the Bid and one of Ireland’s rising SFF talent! Supporting Irish writing and talent is one of the reasons we started Irish Fiction Friday – allowing us to showcase the vast amount of talent in Ireland at present, something which we definitely hope to continue in a Worldcon, should we win.

There are lots more details on the Women Aloud Website!
